Sometimes we find ourselves confused or overwhelmed by the mist of everyday activities. Rising above the mundane, there is a clear purpose in every useful act.

Do you ever feel like you're knocking your head against a wall? It takes humility to seek the narrow path that leads to the 'still waters.'

As we begin to solve the problem of being our view of ourselves and others begins to change. First we become more purposeful and colorful, then our purity is discerned and we lose some of our trappings until universal Love begins to be understood.

In all of my paintings, parts of the image are cropped off the page. This is to signify that there is more than meets the eye, a bigger scene or idea behind it. The lily seems out of place and unsustainable in this hostile environment, yet there it is, glorious without limits!

Perhaps the origin of our universe is more gentle than first speculated. Our sense of Mind naturally expands with understanding.

So-called natural disturbances bend and twist the direction and form of flowers and peoples lives, but those disturbances cannot destroy our being, and can actually invigorate the stalwart.

Our personality seems to be formed more or less by our personal history, every day bringing new joys and trials that add to the texture of what we call “us.” If we believe this claim, we have many reasons and excuses for why we are the way we are.

The lower two thirds of the painting is very busy, filled with the thoughts of this personal history, represented here by two types of figures -- sharp triangular shapes enfolding upon themselves, symbolizing life’s difficulties (pain, disappointments etc.), and botanical shapes representing good experiences, hopes, and desires springing skyward. It would seem that there is no escape from this recycling pattern of human experience. But there is a still small voice (good conscious) calling on us to break the cycle. Personal sense rebels. But we must know the why and wherefore of our identity! On the far left one stem that is flat and uninteresting within the shell has broken through and become full-bodied. This bloom of morning yellow is beginning to open. Another stands beside it facing back toward the horizon and four other dark buds appear to have broken through the shallow shell. These represent promises not yet realized.

From here one might think that they are free, “the sky’s the limit”, but the sky is crude and painterly not at all what we desire when we pray. However, right above the opening yellow bud is a faint aura. This is what we seek and it only appeared when the bud opened. It is not yet disclosed to us what it is or does, but it is what we want to know. Here is where I stand knowing that Truth is right here waiting for me to understand . . . and little by little, I do.

This is the moment that Jesus commanded "Cast the net" from the fishes' perspective. Some go without hesitation, some are watchers, some are confused, some leave and some go without being called (are unprepared). "My sheep (fish?) hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." John 10:27,28

Feeling the source and cause of infinite Love at he center and circumference of all being, we are drawn to it in one grand affection and are held there embraced and embracing the life and light that we are, without harm or fear, without a need that is not already supplied by love's storehouse of blessings, abiding in One Mind, livving by grace with one song in one place . . . .

Truth or "The Great Architect" is approached from many different political and religious orientations. From any individual's point of view, comparisons might appear as a mighty tumult, but Truth is still beautiful and forever the same.

We all have invitations to this party. Attendance is not required, but we have all arrived and eagerly await our options.

Recognize the source of all good as your own and you will see this likeness reflected face to face.

When we are ready, when we give up our agenda, we shall be there at the entering in of the light. Inspired by Ezekiel 46:1-3. The gate of the inner court that looks toward the east is symbolic of the prophetic star followed by the wise men and the prince who enters through it is Intelligence.

Different people are at different stages in their spiritual growth. Here I represent some of those stages as individuals seeing light through a mist and reacting to this light in different ways.

Exuberance and a sense of grand scale mark our first successes, feeding an expectation of plentiful thought harvest.
